I take the floor (23) - Tomo a palavra (23)

I go with the flow everyday

I look for islands and continents previously discovered

with brand new navigational techniques

Latina sail

sextant

compass

and clean sky for my orientation through the stars

here I go along the cost

afterwards I get lost in the sea faraway of everything

I navigate

I discover the memory

stone pillar

of myself.

Discoveries, Cape Town Bay, old map
Discoveries, Cape Town Bay, ol…

Passo os dias a marear a vida

procuro ilhas e continentes já antes descobertos

com novíssimas técnicas de navegar

vela latina

sextante

bússola

e céu limpo para que os astros me guiem

aqui vou ao longo da costa

depois me perco no mar longe de tudo

o que navego

descubro a memória

padrão

de mim próprio.

BANQUET

In the Fatherland's anniversary

the banquet

is served tepid

by ladies very well dressed

frigid

and plump

everybody clamp

under a Requiem's rhythm of plates

glasses

cutlery and candlesticks

played to commend the souls of the national poets

alive and dead.

BELCH

Express everything in a blow

inspire the mystery from the slow and inexorable air

till it get lost in the stomach

afterwards expire it through an       oh!

stunned

smothered in the throat.

I take the floor (25) - Tomo a palavra (25)

White rumours crack in the afternoon's hot

perch as birds on the barbed wire

tear and spill sperm of blood's grass on the parched soil

stems grow up and dance by nightfall

in the winds' blowing that bring clouds

asphyxiating

like feline's claws in the throat.

Rumores brancos estalam no calor da tarde

poisam como pássaros em arame farpado

rasgam-se e vertem sémen de capim de sangue no ressequido do solo

crescem hastes que bailam ao anoitecer

no sopro de ventos que trazem nuvens

asfixiantes

como garras de felino na garganta.

I take the floor (26) - Tomo a palavra (26)

I feel the sun

in the wrinkles of my hands

empty of light

the shadows are

on the fingers

rings sparkling

the morning.

I am getting older in the city (1)
I am getting older in the city…

Sinto o sol

nas rugas de minhas mãos

vazias de luz

as sombras são

nos dedos

anéis que refulgem

manhã.

I take the floor (27) - Tomo a palavra (27)

In the way up the slope

there is a time for tiredness

it's when we stop and look

to the way already done

from which we can conclude

even we climb much more

there will be no bigger reach

in the life's horizon.

Serra da Estrela, slope
Serra da Estrela, slope

Na subida da vertente

há lugar para o cansaço

é quando se pára e olha

para o trajecto já feito

e onde se conclui

por muito mais que se suba

pouco mais se aprofunda

o horizonte da vida.
