I think the headline just about covers it all! We have had glorious rain all day today. For the first time in weeks the windows of our house are flung open for fresh air! The smoke from the fires here in California has been really something. At night it clears out to the Nevada side of the mountains and in the morning, it's right here hanging on the Divide. I cannot tell you how wonderful it feels to be able to take a deep cleansing breath of fresh air, full of moisture. Bliss!
Andrew is home from Burning Man, I have not spoken with him yet, but he posted a pic on FB which I have uploaded here. In full costume, it looks like he had a great time, anxious to hear all about it.
Yesterday, I started a Storm At Sea quilt. I am using fabrics from my stash, mostly Philip Jacobs and Kaffe Fassett with some batiks as well. Today, being a bonus sewing day, holiday...I am just working away on it...until I realized, I was short on my Philip Jacobs! Oh No!!! Why didn't I buy that extra yard of fabric when I was thinking about it??? "Honey?!" "Can I take you out to lunch down the hill?!" "And can we stop at the fabric store while we are down there?!" Racing down the hill, trying not to be too obvious...they are closed! NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Eat lunch..."Honey?!" "Can we take a little drive down to Rocklin?!" Into Beverly's I go...you guessed it....they didn't have what I needed....NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Okay, let's just go home, the traffic is horrendous...I'll have to wait to finish my project. Home, dejected, digging through the piles of fabric on my table...Hey! Is that? It is!!! I have one random strip of the fabric I need. If I am careful with my triangular ruler...I can just get out the bits I need!!! Oh, Happy Day!!!!! I have the most wondeful understanding and indulging husband in the world. Okay, back to sewing!!!
