She's been gone a day. She did what I did, changed her name after a life changing event and then decided she didn't like it after all. When I moved back to the U.S. I used Susan for about 10 mins, she used Kathleen for a few weeks. Just so not us... LOL We had a lot of fun and great conversation and I have some fantastic photos if I do say so myself. I am challenged with how to get some of them on here. Using this laptop I don't have the icons to edit or add pics in an 'article'. It was a pain in the patootie to put one photo in an article on the TouchPad, I am not going to do that for many photos. I have to 'shrink' the photos, most are 1 or more megs each, this laptop doesn't have MS Picture Manager, anybody know of a free program that does it easily? Kathy left her phone charger behind so has to pop by and pick it up sometime in the next few days. She is now staying with a guy, Merlin, who she met through Flickr. He lives a half hour from me. He is 89 years old and still driving, will drive her over in his electric car. She is really enjoying him and his son, Bob. She's got 13 days to get herself up to the Petrified Forest for her volunteer gig through the end of September so she just might be back here for a few days. Charlie is here installing the new ceiling fan, he got the same one, had it all up (or so he thought) and realized he forgot to put a couple of pieces in, wondered why it was so easy to put it up. LOL I hope it works! The remote needs a 12 volt battery, it is like half the size in all dimensions as an AAA battery, never seen one so small. He had one in his spare bucket of batteries. He used to be a fireman, an interesting man. I've been telling him all about Tanque Verde Ranch, he's never heard of it, I wrote down all the details for him so he and his wife can go and try the buffet and maybe ride a horse. Remember that lamp the cats broke in one of their rampages? I kept it, one glass shade was shattered, a few sharp pieces were hanging on. I wrapped it up in a plastic bag and have been using the other side as a bedside lamp as my other lamp's bulb went. They are expensive to replace and I have to find them on the internet again. I pulled out a small cooler bag this morning, thought it would be great to take my lunch to work in, I am going to be making lots of salads starting next week after eating at ton at the buffet on Tuesday, got some good ideas of good things to put in them. In that cooler bag was a Styrofoam box and in it was the spare glass shade I had turned the house upside down trying to find and couldn't. So I put it all on the dining table hoping Charlie would fix it for me for a price and he did, for nothing! VERY happy to have that lamp working again, it's a beauty, short goose neck arms with bubble glass shades. I'm really enjoying these 2 days off before working on the weekend, it's chilly today, 66F/18C, another cold front came through on Tuesday, back up to high 70s tomorrow, then 90s mid to late next week, YAY!!! Perfect timing for the new ceiling fan. I'll try and get all the photos in sets on Flickr and will include links in an article, that sounds so ridiculous doesn't it? LOL I'm not writing for a freakin' newspaper... Might add a photo or two in the article if I can figure out an easier way to do it. Don't know why I can't edit/add pics through one device but not the other and you would think it would be the other way around, I could add/edit through my laptop not the TouchPad. Time for some Pop Chips and White Bean Hummus we found at Trader Joes, it is DELICIOUS! I will get some more. Oh and I haven't heard from my potential 2nd job as yet. I guess I will call the recruiter tomorrow and see what's up, supposed to start on Monday...
