Bali, Indonesia/Ladakh, India

'My first attempt at a "serious" upload.......submitted not so much for it's photographic quality - photos are of 1975 - 1981 vintage - but more of a matter of interest in an area where few got to go in those days. Ladakh is one of three Districts of the state of Jamu-Kashmir in Northern India, which was part of an area for which, as a UNICEF Field Representative, I was responsible. These photos were taken during one of my 'field trips'. I believe I have more such photos, if these are deemed of sufficient interest. BALI, on the other hand, is well known as a tourist haven, albeit paradisial - (I had to look up that word!), that I visited briefly in 1981 as a tourist.

As a curious newcomer to ipernity, I'm having trouble getting started........ also as a Mac user, I subsribe to.Mac with features quite similar to ipernity. I'm wondering therefore, If maintaining the two applications is an overkill or an unnecessary duplication? I haven't actually used either to any extent and am basing my question on a perusal of the applications' features primarily.. Is there anyone out there who might be familiar with both and be willing to share their opinion, in general and specific terms, i.e in favour of one or the other and perhaps, why? Please keep in mind that this is my first attempt at 'blogging', so I'm not sure at this point, where I might need to go from here..........Thanks anyone (everyone). Alan Cass
