I'm not making this private so that my father can read this too. Katie is the one who encouraged me to learn how to knit.

Boy, my computer is having some major issues. Its very slow and the sound is horrible not to mention the cursor is sticky as well. The screen saver is all jumpy as well. Its taking twice as long to boot up, I timed it at about 16 min. The sound is skipping like it is having a hard time loading. This means I cant play my CDs on it. I haven't tried DVDs yet though. I have a laptop so there isn't much I can do like pull it apart to fix it. I fear I picked something up though like a virus. I've run the scans on it and they turn up negative, I've dumped my cookies, I've defragged and cleaned the hard drive. I even restored my computer to a previous day. This just started to happen yesterday and I'm stumped. I'll take any suggestions at this point. I just don't want to take this thing to Geed Squad or anything like that. :(

The weathe in Dallas has been cool for the past week. Really this year its been quite mild. The past years in Dallas we have suffered a heat wave but this year we have not hit over 100 very many days this year. I should say the year isnt over yet!

I woke up this morning and it was about 75 degrees today and I had the day off. What a perfect day to go to the zoo!! So thats what I did! I went to the Dallas Zoo and it was a perfect day to go. Not many people there and it was cool! The animals were out and of course I got a lot of nice shots!

and gets a new stingray buddy, George. All day long Bob was very agetated. He didn't really want to be petted and he kept swimming around in circles. Its time for him to have some peace and quiet now. It's a sad day for the zoo visitor, but a happy day for Bob. Now I don't have to hear, " Isnt that what killed Crocodile Dundee?" ever again. People would actually say that. Well, here is to Bob's retirement! May he do lots of laps in his new tank with George and the flounder!

I am glad to see groups on Ipernity. yehhhh!!!! That is the main way I would explore other peoples photo streams on Flickr. My hopes for the groups on Ipernity is that they stay unblemished by awards and mandatory hoops that needed to be jumped through just to post a pic in a pool. Not to mention, some of those awards were so flashy and gaudy that it took away from the photo in the first place because it was blinking and spinning around! I've started a few groups and I'm not going to invite into them, I just want them to be discovered on their own and if they always have just me as a member then I'm good with that. I won't even post them here. Let's just say that they involve things that I'm interested in. ( big hints!) Part of the fun is looking them up to begin with! I hope to meet a lot of new people and discover new photo streams. Lets keep these groups short sweet and lots of fun to be in! :)) Enjoy!

I'm really worried about him. Every day I take my hamsters out and examine them and make sure that they are fine. Mr. Hammi Pants has been getting thinner and is now starting to loose patches of hair. Today I found a huge lump on his face that wasn't there yesterday. I'm really really scared that he may not be alive much longer.

Now he is an older hamster, he was already 7 months when I got him a year and some months ago. So he is almost 2 years old. That's old for a hamster. The lump on his face is as big as a pea and its kind of hard too. I'm sure it hurts him, but he doesn't make a squeak at all. The earliest I can take him to the vet is Wed. morning. He seems pretty lively though. He's not slowing down at all. The thing that troubles me is that this thing on his cheek popped up overnight and I'm afraid of what it's going to look like tomorrow. I've put some neosporin on it since there is a scab on the bottom of the lump. I think he scratched himself and it scabbed over.

I know He wont be around forever, but he is the best hamster that I have ever had and I want him to get better soon. We shal see what the vet has to say.

As a note, I checked his Hamsterster.com page and a lot of his hamster and gerbel friends are in heaven. I saw Puschl's picture there too. Made me cry.

My step dad took Mr. Hammi Pants to the vet this morning and it was an abscess. I wish I could have been there to take him myself but I'm glad this has been taken care of so quickly. It must have hurt him even though he seems not to show pain. Somehow he got a puncture in his cheek and it got infected. I do not really know how this could happen because the two hamsters don't live together. The only time they were together was when they were in their own separate hamster balls. Could it be possible for her teeth to go through the slits and catch his cheek? I think that's unlikely, but I've also checked his tank for anything sharp. There is a cotter pin on his wodent wheel, but its not sharp at all. It could have been a bug bit that got scratched and then infected, but the vet said that it was a definite puncture wound. So I'm clueless. Only Mr Hammi Pants knows. He is to take a course of Panmycin Aquadrops 2 times a day for 10 days. Then he should be ok. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and kind thoughts towards him. He is coming to work with me for an hour so I can keep an eye on him since I'm going to be giving him his meds soon. ( when he gets up from sleeping) I'm glad it wasn't something like a cancer. I'm very very glad!
