Hamster fact: Female Syrian hamsters can have babies from three months on. If a hamster has its first litter at six months, it runs the risk of breaking its pelvis and bleeding to death. At six month the pelvis is fused and is not as flexible as when the hamster was months younger. So remember, if your hamster girl gets knocked up after six months, there is a good chance she won't survive the pregnancy! So keep the boys and girls apart! There are a lot of unwanted hamsters out there so making more isn't a good idea to begin with. And you can't neuter a hamster either, too small. :)
