Since MTV (in USA, anyhow) gave up showing music videos probably 15 years ago, one of the few things they have left going for them (if you're under 25) is The Real World. After 42 seasons (so it seems), they've finally come to Washington, DC. The house they selected is an old mansion at 2000 S Street, NW, roughly 1/2 block east of Connecticut Ave., in the Dupont Circle area (locals know it's just up from the Scientology place, diagonal from the Russia House, near the hotel where Reagan got shot, and just south of a strip club...)
I've been by there a few times the past month as they were making final preparations, saw some of the "cast" moving in a few days ago, etc. Unlike many other RW houses, this one is set right on the street, and not a secluded street at that. The friggin hot tub is visible to anyone on the sidewalk. Going to make for an interesting summer in DC. Here's a video posted on youtube today. The lady doing the interviewing is from a local network. The guy in the Apple shirt with the big camera, is one of the RW crew, breaking an unwritten rule of photojournalism: never block the other guy's shot.
