I recently attended a children's ballet competition with my dance teachers. A number of children from the dance studio were taking part, accompanied by their parents. At a coffee break I sat opposite a couple I didn't know and it turned out they were the parents of one of the few boys taking ballet class. I was about to introduce myself but the mother knew who I was and leaned over.
"William is so pleased you do ballet, he's seen you in the shows and around the studio. It's really good for him to know there are men who do ballet"
"I really enjoy it"
"So does William but he doesn't mention ballet at school because two boys bullied him. He'll only admit to street dance"
