Too less time

Since there have been some changes in my life, I have not been able to take any new pics, what really hurts because I have no time for what I like to do. But nevertheless, I will do my best to keep up with my site and at least check on you guys, what you have done and how you are. Hopefully, I will soon have some more time to be productive and creative again!

I wish you all the best and some nice moments in the up-coming winter season.

What to do with your life?

The other day I read an article about how people experience their lives. It was said that you should experience at least 7 times in your life a different working field. This does not include working as a banker and switch from one bank to another but doing completely different things. Frankly speaking, challenge yourself! I found this theory very interesting because until a couple of years ago young people looked for a life time job in which they would stay at least 25 years. I see it at many people from older generations. They still have the same opinion. I can perfectly understand that security plays an important role but why not risk something? Why not leave the old office job behind and become a gardener? Or why not move to a sunny country and be happy rather than working in a musty environment and get frustrated and depressed?

I asked myself if I would be a happy person if I stayed 25 years in the same profession and maybe even in the same company. And the answer is defiantely NO!!! Would I not regret not having tried different things when I am old? I am having a kind of romantic idea about life and therefore the idea of change dominates my own. When you are 18 you have a small idea of how life would be but only in your 20 or even later you figure out what you want and I would say it is NEVER to late to start something completely new and unknown. Therfore I have asked myself what I would have become earlier and what I would like to become in the coming years. Here is my list:

1. Doctor; 2. Yoga Instructor (working on it), 3. Photographer (like to very much), 4. Cook/ Baker (I love it and I am great at it); 5. Metereologist (I find weather fascinating), 6. Lawyer (always wanted to be, never will be), 7. Artist (for example painting or sculpture), 8. Gallerist; 9. farmer or gardener

Some of these I will definately do and I am looking forward to it!!!!!!!!

What do you think of this idea? and what would you change and become? just hypothetically!!! I am very curious about your choices!

Amsterdam photographers

hell my friends,

I was wondering if there are people on ipernity that are actually living in and around Amsterdam who are interested in a meeting. I noticed that some people have been doing it in other cities and I thought it would be a great opportunity to do it as well in Amsterdam.

Besides I am looking for people I can work on a project with, nothing specific yet, although I am having a couple of ideas. Working together, sharing tips and tricks would be fantastic.

So guys, if anyone is interested or anyone comes to Amsterdam, let me know. I would be happy!

Iyengar Yoga

I know this is probably not the right space to place a question like this. I am doing Iyengar Yoga in the Netherlands and will probably go to Lisbon for one or two months this year and for longer maybe next year. Does anyone know if there is somebody teaching yoga after BKS Iyengar? I have checked the internet and couldn't find anything in Lisbon which I can barely believe since it is a big city. Anyway, any hints and clues are welcome! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Library Amsterdam

About a year ago I had to deliver a project for the course I was taking and chose the new library in Amsterdam. I went there a couple of times and was never satisfied with what I had as a result. I took pictures of people, of the architecture and of the outside. Two days before I had to present my project I changed my mind about the subject. Hecne all the pictures I had taken ended up in a folder untouched. Now I thought I could give a go to the pictures I was sooo unsatisfied with and in the end I figured out that they were not that bad at all. Somehow this happens with a lot of pictures I have taken. I don't like them and leave them. But after a while I notice that it wasn't that bad.

So if you ever come to Amsterdam, check out the new library, close to Central Station. It is a really nice buidling and has a great cafe at the top and gives a marvelous view over the city. But now, it is my pictures ... let me know what you think!

Thanks

Buying Online

Today I am really getting pissed off since I ordered two lenses for my camera, paid everything and received only one product. Does anyone of you know the company Profilmgear.com, they are selling photography equippment on the internet and last time I ordered everything went ok.

I have sent already numerous emails to ask what's going on but nobody is replying. There is even no service hotline but only email contact. I trusted that company since it was working the first time I ordered something. Since I cannot get my money back from the bank (I have tried that one) I have no clue what to do. It is the first time I am feeling screwed from buying something on the internet. It is unbelievable.

Kauderwelsch

The other day I was on my bike thinking about something and suddenly noticed: Ich denke nicht mehr in Deutsch, wenn ich denke ... I was thinking in English. I am even speaking in English to my cat. En dan gebeurd het toch inderdaad dat ik begin in Nederlands te denken. All dieses Hin- und Her von Sprachen makes me sometimes really confused. Ik spreek Nederlands alleen met mijn vriendinnen, English at home and Deutsch mit meiner Familie. Hoe kan dat nou?

Sometimes I have the problem dat woorden makkelijker komen in Engels en Nederlands, although German is meine Muttersprache. And now I am starting Portugees, dat maakt het echt niet makkelijker. Since Amsterdam is so international, everybody spreekt Engels of iets anders.
