Religious fundamentalism is on the rise here and abroad, and our own virulent version of this movement is known as "intelligent design" (ID). As ID forces it's way into the classroom it abrogates the separation of church and state that has served this country well for over 200 years. Also the intelligent design movement threatens American global dominance in science, and poses a grave threat to our economy, which is largely driven by advances in science and technology. This assault on science has had a friend in Bush, and now McCain by his choice of Palin. Can this country survive another administration that supports this medieval concept???
