Some of my favourite music, part 1. Sufjan Stevens

Friday August 8, 2008 at 11:53AM

Some you tube highlights for a very gifted singer songwriter whose songs have got me through many a crisis! I have tried to put mainly live videos so you can see him, but also, it means I am not ripping off the albums :) if these songs don't move you at all, then I bow to your heart of stone!

I love his wings and smile! His music is melancholy, but I can learn to love it. And my heart is not made of stones. ;)

admittedly i put more of the melancholy stuff on there, but there is often something hopeful about those songs or peaceful. like a shoulder of a friend who understands you well, sometimes the harmony and lyrics of a song can act in the same fashion. anyway part three might well be happier...now for part 2!

I do like his voice and everything sounds very soft and quiet. ;) I like nice friendly shoulders. Great way of describing his music, it's comforting for you. haha. What's in store behind door #3?

I love his music a lot! My current favorite, also an independent singer/songwriter, is Jay Brannan, you can find lots of his stuff on youtube as well, check it out! He's performing here in Cologne in two weeks and I'm looking forward to see him live. He's also in Stockholm one day later, Oct. 22nd, maybe you can make it!?
