TV guys now gone...

Wednesday June 18, 2008 at 05:46PM

Back to nearly normal now that the ITV film makers have gone... Took two of them out last Friday to do a bit of bouldering... (See photos) Another guy wanted to come but it was a busy last few days for them.. Out for a farewell drink & meal on Saturday as well.. Very nice!

Nice to see some other guys have joined the climbing/bouldering group... Loads of great photos and some col videos from Seb too..!

Hopefully out to do some 'trad' climbing again next week. Half planning a trip to climb some stuff in Wales too.

Had a very busy couple of weeks though - trying to catch up with people's comments & views... Both on here & Flickr.. I do appreciate them... Thanks guys... ;-)

Hi Mike! Did the ITV-Team film some of your bouldering? I'm also in the TV business and interested in information about climbing themes on TV.

Hi Mark, The filming was for an ITV production called 'Total Emergency' filming in & around Sheffield with Police, Fire, Ambulance & Mountain Rescue.. Due to be shown this August I think..
They came out with me bouldering & did film a bit of me and other distant climbers... But mainly were after 'GVs' (good views) to link the Peak District countryside & rocks to the city which is only a mile away..
It was great having them along here & there on the job.. (I work on my own in a fast response vehicle as a Paramedic) Nice to be able to share what I do with them.. (& get filmed a bit too!) (Along with all the other services of course)
Don't know how much of me will make it past cutting room floor...!
What sort of thing do you do in the TV business..? I know your small bouldering videos are good!

Sounds interesting. Planning to do a format like this in Germany. Maybe you can post me the day when the series starts. We can see ITV in our office. Our business? For example, we did the German version of "Cash Cab"! :-)

He he! I had to 'google' Cash Cab... Never heard of it! Found the Wikipedia link which filled in the gaps! They mention Germany there too..
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cash_Cab
I remember seeing some shots of the inside of a taxi in your pictures... Now I know why!
I'll let you know when the programme starts!

Oh, I thought Cash Cab is very popular in the UK. Anyway, thank you for posting the date!
