I have been mostly in a bad mood. Blame the weather, blame lack of sleep, blame the fact that I’m a grumpy old bag lol.

An email was sent to all the technicians, except me, regarding working during the ‘big’ event. A colleague kindly showed me the email, and he replied to it, very subtly suggesting that I had been omitted and that I should also put in a request re working on site. It was really nice of him and much appreciated. I’m now ‘in the loop’ and have requested that I be allowed on site so that I don’t have to use up 10 days leave – exclusion time is getting bigger! I still plan to take the bank holiday week off, but I’m reluctant to use up a further 6 days leave that I hadn’t planned for. We’ll see how it goes…

I had the meeting with my manager, and whilst he empathises with my plight, he mentioned that a complaint has been made about my attitude. Hmmm. No-one else on site has any issues with me, just this one person. I’ve ‘stirred the pot’ and I’m trying to see if I can get my contract changed. The 2 people I’ve spoken to are very interested in me working for them it’s just a case of if they have the budget. If things continue, then I see no option but to actively look for another job. I often look for something better, but it’s becoming more relevant if I have to keep working for this one member of staff. It stinks that one person can regularly make my life a misery :(

My new mattress is taking some getting to. I’ve had a very firm Futon mattress for 8 years now, and a sprung mattress is very different. I’m still getting pins and needles in my hands, though this week it’s only been once a night around 5am, instead of 3 or 4 times a night which was exhausting! The downside of the new mattress is that I’m waking up with vertigo; the mattress is very deep so I’m higher on the bed, and when I turn over at night, which I do a lot, then the movement of the springs is causing me to feel dizzy. I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon and I have to say it’s very comfortable; not as hard as the Futon which I was finding too hard now I’m old and a wussie lol, but firm enough. How on earth do some people sleep on a water bed? I’d be sick!

We’re forecast a few cooler days, but no rain on the horizon. I miss the rain. It’s Wales, it’s supposed to rain. Have a lovely weekend, and mind out for sunburn.
