On Monday I had the kind of morning that makes you slink off to the toilets to have a quiet cry. Man I was having a bad day. For the past 2 weeks I’ve been going to and fro with a software supplier trying to sort out a problem with access. I was being ‘harassed’ to get it sorted, and with the way things are here, I was seriously worried that if I couldn’t do the job, that I would be ‘let go.’ After I’d calmed down, I asked a colleague who’s good at software to come and help me. After an hour together, he deduced that this is nothing we can fix, and to pass it up the chain to our IT people. I felt so much better knowing I wasn’t the only one who can’t fix this.

Tuesday was a much better day, after an initial fraught email. I’m supposed to demonstrate some kit that I’ve never used before, and haven’t had any training on. Some days I genuinely hate my job. Anyway, I got the kit out, plugged it all in and set about it, and mercifully managed to get it all working. I really must work on my lack of self-confidence/esteem. I thank my ex and my ex-boss for that. I know we shouldn’t ‘play’ the blame game, however they did a good job on me…

On the home front, I was especially pleased yesterday that my car passed the MOT (road worthy certificate) and the service went well with no nasty surprises or big repair bills; the joy of a not too old car :) I have enough money put aside to pay the service bill, and hopefully enough for the gas boiler service too without having to raid my savings. The overtime payment recently really was a massive help with these bills, just wish there was more of it.

After 2 weeks of nothing, we’ve finally had an email from my ex, apparently they ‘had’ to go to a wedding and email/phone coverage was non-existent. For 2 weeks? Hmmm. At least he showed some interest and asked how his son did in his exams.

I have Friday off so I’m looking forward to a 3 day weekend. My son is going on a school trip, and I’m going to use that time to get in his room and give it a good ‘spring’ clean. He keeps his bedroom very tidy, however I want to move the furniture and clean it well, dust it, and throw out some ‘stuff’ that he’s indicated he doesn’t want anymore. I also plan to get groceries and have a nice mooch around the shops on my own for a change. I’m looking forward to it.

We’ve had a few cold mornings here, though some nice sunny days too with minimal rain which makes a lovely change. Hopefully we’ll all have a sunny weekend to look forward to. Enjoy the rest of the week.
