This week saw a resolution to my shoe ‘problem.’ The company no longer stock the shoes that split, so they’ve sent me a full refund which was nice. The trainers I had are no longer available in the colour that I bought, however I chose a colour from their online catalogue and they’ve now arrived. Although I’ve been impressed by their customer service, I’m not sure that I’ll shop there again. It was extremely inconvenient having to buy more footwear to tide me over, and I now don’t have a decent pair of smart shoes; I have a pair of black leather trainers from a few years back, so they’ll have to do for now. I don’t have the heart for shoe shopping any time soon lol.
After complaining in my previous blog that my ex hasn’t even asked after his son, he’s finally sent an email asking if we’re okay. Apparently he’s seen the weather reports from the UK, and the flooding, and is concerned. It’s only taken him over 10 weeks! Frankly I can’t be bothered to reply to him just yet and will make him wait a few days. They’re now in Hobart in Tasmania but are having trouble finding a property to rent long term due to lack of availability. He’s also finding that his skills aren’t much in demand so he’s having trouble finding work and may have to go on some kind of training course to make him more employable. Honestly, wouldn’t you have checked this out BEFORE you went and emigrated? The concern of my son and me is that they’ll come back. My ex is still trying to get our son to go over there, even to live and work as he has good IT skills. Thankfully, and I know I’m being selfish, our son isn’t interested. I don’t think either of us would like the heat, and my son has similar skin to myself – we don’t tan, we burn. I can use sun tan lotion SPF 50 and will still burn if out for more than 45 minutes to an hour. We’d much prefer Canada to be honest though this year it’s been cold there in the extreme. What the hell is going on with the weather?
It’s Friday, best day of the week to my mind in that I have the whole weekend to look forward to. Have a great one, hopefully the weather will be a little more kind for all of us.
