I planted these phlox a few years ago and they have since proliferated. They are not fussy, expanding over sand, rocks, and even pavement. I weeded them at first, but now they compete with the weeds quite well on their own. I don't water or fertilize them at all. The flowers only last a couple of weeks, but the greenery flourishes all summer. They make a good foundation planting because they never get any taller than this.
