After growing up in Gibraltar, the immensely talented Albert Hammond recorded "The Air That I Breathe" (Albert Hammond - Mike Hazlewood) in 1972 as a track on his superb album "It Never Rains in Southern California". The release featured members of The Wrecking Crew.

Engineered by Alan Parsons at Abbey Road, The Hollies (Allan Clarke, Terry Sylvester, Tony Hicks, Bobby Elliott and Bernie Calvert) cover in 1974 reached number three on the Adult Contemporary chart and sixth position on Billboard's Top One Hundred. This was the Hollies last major single.
