Ice Storm

Wednesday December 17, 2008 at 08:19AM

Well finally after about 5 days with no power...no internet, no TV, no hot water...UGH! Just a lot of candles, takeout food, and triple layered clothing. I got it back tonight!! YIPPIEEEYAHHHHOOOO!

This has been one of the worst ice storms in New Hampshire's history and many are still without power. Though I really didn't get a chance to take any shots, the one of the truck covered by the tree branch was taken the next morning and was only about 3 parking spaces from my car. The other two images of the surrounding areas I got off the internet.

Wow! When we lose the power here, we still have hot water and heat in our houses and the power loss is usually never longer than 2-3 hours.
Hard enough to have no internet for 5 days without losing the heat and the hot water :o)
Great pictures, especially the last one...

Wow, I can just say congrats on having heat and hot water and electricity back! A great birthday present ;o) We don't have ice storms here in Iceland (remarkable huh?) but I've seen photos where cars for example are encased in ice and almost have to be chiseled free...

Thanks Begga...that is ironic...lol
Oh yes, I've had that problem with my car as well. I've had to pour hot water over my locks to get the door unlocked and also had to pry my gas cover open a few times:)))

You really find out who your friends are in times like these. We had a huge ice storm in 1991, I worked for the power company, we worked day & night for two weeks to restore power.
