The Ant Perspective

The Ant Perspective

Seeing the world from another point of view: the ants...

You know the frog perspective (down up), the bird perspective (up down), well, here's the ant perspective (down forward)!!

How i do it? Just place the camera on the ground (soil, pavement, ... water not recommended ) and press da button :D and surprise: see what comes out! I'm curious as to see your shots!!

I call mine ground-shots and like that perspective also a lot. It's often fun to just press the button and see later what you actually captured ;)
oh... and try hip-shots (e.g. when people shouldn't see you are taking pictures...) as well... could be the "large dogs perspective" in your words ;)

I meanwhile experimented a bit and found a 16:9 format to be appropriate, because the ground wouldn't cover half of the photo.

i once saw, when i was in school, a documentary about a woman with some kind of cleaning disorder. whenever she even saw a waste bin on tv, she cleaned her tv... the house, you could eat from the floor! so, i can imagine dust photos would drive her mad. by the way, it wouldn't surprise me if there were a 'dust group' on Ipernity :D

Oh, no, I don't mind my dust laying around--as long as it doesn't disturb ME.

Bahnhof, Ameisenperspektive

I mean, ants don't need to look that far forward, right?

Lodchjo replies:
that's something i've been thinking of too, but i don't even know whether biologists have an answer for this. maybe they can see only up to a meter or 2...?

(sorry for my poor German)
