Dear Odin,
Things have changed quite a lot since you’ve been gone.
You’ll be glad to know, for the better; it has been quite a ride!
You know I can’t say I’ve missed you. I don’t really miss people, not that you can tell them that, but I can tell you. I could tell you anything. Your brother misses you, a lot. Your son is doing great, he is living up to his name and yours and takes good care of me. He protects me, like you did, and licks away my tears. We have a new family member, Sekhmet, and you’ll be amused to know that Marduk has had some “adjusting” to do, as indeed you did when he arrived. Bast is doing well, she’s softening and the four of us are together a lot of the time now.
I started traveling again after you left and enjoyed a few trips and adventures. Remember how you’d get when there was a bitch on heat? I always had a lot of empathy for you when that happened and I’m sure you can understand how I felt when I embarked on my Chemistry Experiment. I learned quite a lot from that as well as other experiences that came along the way. I am thankful for the lessons I have received, many in the form of soft knocks, some of them at doors which have opened up new portals for further discoveries.
Since Sekhmet arrived I’ve stayed put at home and have continued on the spiral path. Finally I’m getting to where I am, which is what matters. I feel liberated, free and happy! I started last year determined to remain single so that I could be *myself* and I have done so. Your being continues to motivate and inspire me; I started keeping a Diary on the 28th of December. You were so present in my thoughts and heart those days and I remember last year so well... no regrets.
I wish to be as you always saw me and your love and loyalty continues to inspire me. Thank you for being there for me when I have needed you. I love you so much, you were my dream come true. I treasure my dreams but when they become real... well, that is infinitely precious.
