Your advice welcome!!

Tuesday November 6, 2007 at 07:53PM

I had a kitten for a month. I had to give it away and she is now very happy with a big garden and a fellow cat...

But since she is no longer with me I have been reading about cats incessantly and I feel the need to have one. In this research, I looked for grey cats and discovered they are caled blue cats. And from that search, I discovered my love: Russian Blue cats.

A true beauty and exactly the type of temperament and needs that suit me.

If you take the time to read this and have some opinion, advice or recommendation for me, go ahead...

PS: I know it all about the "don´t buy, adopt instead". I would like to hear more about cats themselves and your experience with them.

EDIT:

I am in the process of adopting her: www.gatosenadopcion.com/grisetas.htm

I will hopefully visit her this week coming and see i we like each other!

But I love her already!

We live in the 3rd floor and the cats often have to be alone. So we adopted two kittens and they are enjoying each other when they are alone at home.

How cute is that!! Your kitties are great!

2cats, yeah, I thought of it. It might well be a possibility, but not 2 Russian blue: It would be too expensive. I have my eyes on a little injured girl...

But first let us see where and how I manage the Russian Blue.

Thanks for your visit and comment, sasha!

I have two cats. My oldest ist 4 years old and the small girl is about 6 months old.
Advices.. I can give you a lot ;) You have two choices. 1) Getting a cat from a shelter. Or 2) getting a cat from a breeder (an official breeder, not somebody who just produces kitten to make money)
Kitten from real breeders start at 600€ per cat. But you know those cats will be healthy and don't have any illnesses. I think you will have a lot of cats in the shelter in spain. I would tell you, go there and help a little soul there (or better two. most cats hate to be alone).
If you need any more advices, just ask me. I will help you as good as I can :)

Thanks for your advice! I am aware of what you say about shelters and breeder: I am researching a lot!

I think by now I know all of the shelters in Andalucía and also Madrid, Catalonia and even Asturias...

But I am really in love with the character of the Russian Blue. I don´t know if I am to blame, but... I might get a shelter one, thoug. But then it would be one with some sort of discapacity. There is a little 3 legged Siamese in Badajoz that may never be adopted because of his accident. It breaks my heart.

Now, as you know, shelters are sometimes extremely fussy about letting go the kitties. It is not that easy...
