I could use facebook for all reasons (including the photo-thing). There is so less movement here going on. ipernity is a good technical platform. But the community has decreased in the last months. Flickr is not a real alternative. There are serious reasons not to go back to this place. I will think about this situation the next days. But I don´t want to be a dead account like the many others here.

Stimmt. Aber wohl deswegen, weil dort etwas los ist. Und ich habe auch noch fotoübergreifende Kontakte dort. Diese alleinige Foto-Nummer funktioniert nicht so richtig. Das hier ist eher eine Bildhalde zum Abladen von Bildmaterial. Hier ist kaum Bewegung. Davon lebt so ein Dienst aber doch. Egal...jeder entscheidet das für sich selbst. Ich werde den Account hier wohl bald still legen.

Ipernity is still small compared to the oher huge boys, not so well known, no gigantic companiessupporting it, it's in Europe and and and... On the other side it is kind of cosy and surely more personal here.
It would be a pity if you would leave, you've got a special taste and a lot of photos of such a quality that I would regret seeing you leaving the place. Think again...

I think its more like a lost place...I´ve payed for the last two years and I always was a true supporter from the first day of use. But now the energy is gone...

but isn't it with everything like this? I'm reading around that i.g. facebook is slinking off, the same with all of the "social" websites. I don't know, I've always looked at it as a public parking place for my media and didn't have any kind of expectations, but again, I'm not professionaly busy here. I don't know your case, of course...

Im Moment herrscht bei allen meinen Bekannten die ebenfalls selbständig sind eine wahnwitzige Situation vor (und auch bei mir):
Man arbeitet deutlich mehr, macht aber dennoch weniger Umsatz und somit Gewinn! :-(
Ich hatte dieses Jahr nicht wirklich die Zeit, mich mit irgend einem Hobby zu beschäftigen, kein Schlagzeug, keine Fotografie, keine Freizeit ... :-/
Aber hoffentlich wird's nächstes Jahr wieder besser ...

Das hört man aber gar nicht gerne. Trotzdem glaube ich, dass es nicht an der Krise liegt, dass hier so wenig los ist.

Für mich ist es fast schon klar, dass ich dieses Angebot nicht mehr weiter groß nutzen werde.

The groups are dead and it's true it's a big picture dump here.

Of course I think it's my fault as well. I've not had much time to visit a lot of the other streams and so I wasn't getting a lot of feedback either. I've had times when I was quite active getting views in the hundreds and several comments as well. Recently I've invested a little more time visiting, commenting, faving and getting back something as well. If you don't give you don't get...

It just sucks that I have sooo little time. Just yesterday I crawled through my HDD to find something unpublished that I can put online because I've shot almost nothing the last month. Sometimes I take the camera with me, but not the time to pause and take a picture. I don't have any time and less energy even, it sucks.

Mir geht es leider ähnlich. Auf der einen Seite finde ich wenig Zeit andere zu besuchen und vielleicht ist auch das der Grund dafür, dass ich so wenig Rückmeldung auf meine Bilder bekomme. Auf der anderen Seite bedaure ich auch sehr, dass die Gruppen hier gar nicht funktionieren und ich habe mich eine Zeit lang wirklich bemüht. Hätte ich eine gute Alternative, wäre ich vielleicht auch schon weiter gezogen...

mhm, dass die gruppen nicht funktionieren, verstehe ich auch nicht. schaue auch oft mal in gruppen rein, aber da weht schon der ein oder andere digitale wüstenbusch übers feld.. schade, v.a. weil man an flickr sieht, dass es auch anders geht.

Ich finde bei flickr sind die meisten Gruppen auch nur Bilderabladeplätze, was man auch schon daran sieht, dass die Leute ein Bild in 30 Gruppen einstellen.

Ohne mich würds unzweifellos zu einem sichereren Platz auf diesem Mond werden, aber was hätte ich davon?
Ein reklamearmer Dienst mit sehr guten Konditionen und guten Kommunikationsmöglichkeiten zu schwächen finde ich komplett unlogisch. Wenn mir hier zu wenig Party ist, dann wäre die logische Folge in meinen Auen eher dafür Reklame zu machen - was ich latürnich nicht mache, weil das ja mit Aufwand verbunden wäre.
Nö. ich wart ab, was sich hier weiter entwickelt. Ich leb nicht von meinen Bildchen, ich brauchs nicht für mein Ego, also schau ich erst mal was kommt. Eine halbjährige Flaute sagt kaum was über die Zukunft des Dienstes aus.

Ich habe mich sehr für diesen Dienst eingesetzt und auch Werbung betrieben. Ich war überall mit dabei. Aber da wollte einfach nichts passieren. Ich schätze diese Plattform aus technischer Sicht auch. Das Konzept ist gut. Auch wenn eine mobile Version, eine bessere Übersicht usw. fehlen...trotzdem fehlt hier einfach das Leben.

Indeed, nothing's changed since a long time and we are very sorry for that. Actually lots of things have changed in a positive way but nothing visible yet. Despite the financial crisis, we managed to raise funds (EUR 1M) last summer and to list the company on the Euronext Paris stock market. The next step was to hire new talents. We've just build a new technical team which will be fully functional in a couple of days. So we could start again developing dozen of innovative projects (the first release will be ipernity for mobile). Again sorry for this delay but we're sure you'll understand we are still here and motivated to make ipernity the best sharing place of the internet.

Thank you for your response. It is good to see, that you care about the community. I will stay to see your future developments. Because this place is a real alternative to other popular media-sharing-networks. Just let me know if I can support you with some beta-testing. I have many skills in testing mobile applications in terms of usability.

Something must happen to the people here. There are to many dead profiles in my contact-list. Could there be a feature to sort contacts out that have been unchanged for more than one year? We should clean up this place and start with new energy. Do not forget that this service is nothing without the users.

I cannot hardly wait for the new mobile app.
