EXIF Reader Mac OS X - Shutter Releases

Recently I wanted to know the shutter release count of my Nikon camera. After some research I found out that this information is hidden in a photo's EXIF data. I couldn't read it out using Adobe Lightroom or Apple's Aperture. But finally I've found a simple application called Reveal:

Enjoy.

New Icon

I decided to update my icon photo. Since my friends took so many photo during a portrait session of me, I picked a photo Tupelo Honey took of me. Actually I look a bit dark here, but scaling it down to icon size I think a look a bit more mature here. Thanks again, Diana, you did an amazing job here. I really like this photo.

Spam

Wow, after logging into my ipernity account today I saw that I've received over 40 messages. Unbelievable I thought ;). But.. 90% were invitations for groups. Yeah, groups :) - finally. I'm really glad to see the uncontrolled growth of groups now happening here at ipernity. And of course I joined in and established a couple of groups myself. Invitations are on the way :).

Uploading photos

A couple of days ago I sent colso an email that commenting his photos is not permitted. He didn't do it on purpose he told me. Today I uploaded my latest photos using Picture Sync with the same result. My latest photos were set private. After I set them public colso wrote me an email telling me that comments are not allowed; so I had to allow them by hand. I'm still not sure if it's ipernity's web-service or a flaw in Picture Sync... but the next time I'll check my photos more properly after uploading.

Technology can be so annoying sometimes... ;).

Tired of discussions

24h ago I posted my so far last statement to the flickr help forum. I read the latest postings in the forum a couple of minutes ago and still there's nothing really new. I still see it this way. And I'm getting tired of this whole discussion. In the end I get much out of it

  • country laws are complicated and not very accurately defined. Many judges don't really seem to have a feeling for the internet
  • communication is the most important in any conflict
  • do a comprehensive research before going into new unknown markets
  • internet companies, like flickr, offer the infrastructure to build communities. Like other companies they are bound to their shareholders first, not their customers. Even if this sounds ridiculous and naive but I thought of them being part of our community.

The flickr community feeling is gone, forever.

www.flickr.com/groups/againstcensorship/discuss/72157600432879855/page2/

Naja, ipernity gleicht nun mal in vielen Dingen flickr - teilweise 100%.
