Leave of absence

Tuesday September 25, 2007 at 08:44PM

Have I developed a form of Ipernity addiction?

I'm asking it to my self and the answer is always affirmative.

So I decided to give to myself a sort of leave of absence. I'll continue to visit Ipernity, but I will limit myself to a maximum of an hour a day, dedicated to uloading and viewing shots.

In the meantime, having received only a response to my inquiry for co-admins and moderators, I decided anti-democratically and in a totalitary way to choose between my more trustworthy friends (people known for their seriousity as Bigoode ;-) ) one or more admins for each of my groups.

They can do anything an admin can do in my absence, but they haven't no obligation to be fast nor seriuos nor impartial (Anthony, pleeeeeease, do remember the 12.5% on rake-offs over invitations you promised me: LOL).

Thank you very much for all your attention and support and take care,

Roberto

P.S. Tonino BeGood Beddo, don't forget my relatives in the Sicilian Family...

Roberto, I have been through this and even in a worse way! I had to learn a bunch of tecniques and new ways of dealing with what is coming that were unknown to me until now. Ipernity was a big Addition to a life that was already full to the brink. I had to scaled down other things, make room, squeeze in. But circumstance has helped me also to drop a few subjects that i was attached to until now. I had to review the panorama of my thinking and activities and I did that by going for a walk (an hour or less is enough) by myself, steadily, everyday, shine or rain, busy or not. If you cannot go away for a few days, that's what you can do to keep your equilibrium. (method recommended for pro-addicts by one of my books on Self-Help!) I pass on to you the trick! Still have a nice vacation and good luck!

I feel your pain. I too am an addict. I promised myself a day off last Monday, no ipernity. I managed to spend a lot less time on it, but it wasn't an entirely ipernity free day.

Yes dear Roberto...I am close to total addiction, just like at Flickr...but I have an addictive personality to begin with and photography just adds to the problem. Have a nice rest and please take care of you...I just lost my most favorite mentor at Flickr for the same reason. Send all my positive energy your way and you are in my prayer bowl...I do believe there is a higher being then all of us...
