I was in Buenos Aires for work, during 2009 World Gas Conference.
An awesome metropolis, full of contradictions.
Seeing cartoneros in the center of BsAs, seeing protests from Malvinas (Falklands) war soldiers in Plaza de Mayo, seeing sciuscià (shoeshines) as in De Sica's movie about Italy of the 50s, seeing an apocalyptic traffic jam in the 20 lanes part of Avenida 9 de Julio: all of these experiences left a big emotion inside me and now I have a new idea of what are the effects of our absurd Way of Life.
During this week in Baires there were also the funerals of Mercedes Sosa, the day for the victims of terrorism and the 42nd anniversary of Ernesto Che Guevara assassination.
