A terrorist is something quite different than a thief.
I did read some billions are gone in an Icelandic black hole . . .
I also read the prime minister said "sorry" . . .

I agree with you that banks and financial institutions have to be submitted to strict anti-terrorist restrictions... or anti-robbery ones... :-D

You all know that this is not fun? Actually GB has frozen icelandic assets using anti-terror law, as you can read here

Nils A. replies:
You know IceSave bank has let disappear, only for the Netherlands, 250 million euros the provinces had on Icesave accounts. You know this is all Dutch tax-payer money? You think this is funny? Now we don't talk about the private accounts from the Dutch persons who did save money here, only Province money. Here you can read the Icesave telling the Dutch people they are sorry the money is gone.

onlinebank.icesave.nl/online-bank.aspx

Mad world?? Mad bank maybe? certainly a lot of mad people. And no, I did not have an account with Icesave.

I know and I'm sorry and what I'm completely unable to understand is why the same kind of response isn't due if it is a US or German or French or Italian bank or multinational to fry our saving...
The (not so) fun part is that I suspect this kind of freeze will damage a lot of UK citizens far more than Ice banks...

Nils A. replies:
I think financial persons took to big risks. I don't blame anyone. I do think US is living far above it's standard. This should change first, then, let's make a whole new financial system where taking such immense risks is limited or better controlled.

Roberto Ballerini - travelingpro replies:
I agree and in some obscure way I feel very near to whom breaks the rules of this absurd system, as Icelandic government has done... If all the governments will decide to defend their citizens, perhaps the space for financial speculation could be very very little...
