Bahrain - short impressions (3)

Wednesday July 25, 2007 at 08:30AM

I just remembered one good laugh we had, shortly after we got on the plane and before take off. The crew was looking for a man and announced the following "Mr.HashHash, Mr. HashHash please".

Sorry, but we started cracking up and soon after the crew did too (we were sitting right behind the 1st calss) - that name is just WAY too funny .

Btw. our airline was Jazeera airways, sounds a tad scary, no? But it's the cheapest and actually quite good for the price.

----------------------------------------------------

Old part of Manama (The main city) - Alter Teil von Manama (der Hauptstadt)

One main difference between Kuwait and Bahrain in the market area wherethe tiny little streets in Manam, little old mosques, old buildings, everything decorated with flags of different colors.
Many of the old buildings have been destroyed in Kuwait, that's probably where it lost a lot of it's own flair.
Don't get me wrong, most of these buildings in Bahrain are falling apart, but it seems that there's some effort going on to restore them.

------------------------------------------

This old guy could barely walk. One time I saw a policemen helping him accross the street. That was when we arrived with the taxi. Second time, after shopping he walked around the same crossing again. And after that we saw him one more time (we were waiting in front of a Jewlery shop for our Taxi). He came around the corner and we had to make room for him. Tiny old man, all bent and some dried herbs in his pockets. A bit lost, it seemed.
The policemen almost said something to me, for taking a picture of that guy.

------------------------------------------

Maybe I should have ;)

To be continued.....
