Only a few hours left...

...and we'll have groups on ipernity. At least it was announced some time ago by the ipernity staff that they will implement some preliminary group functionality tomorrow.

I think, nobody knows details how the groups will look, which features and functionality they will provide, but anyway, this site will not be the same afterwards. Groups will change the way of how to access pictures and the way of communication, which is so far mostly limited to the own network and works mostly as a kind of dialog in blog entries or below pictures. Groups will bring people with different network background together, will give you a better overview what's going on.

That's definitely positive. But bringing the user closer together can also lead to conflicts. The main source of conflict will be the way how different user want to use groups. And partly, without having any groups up to now, discussions about that are already rather emotionally.

But nevertheless I'm clearly pro groups and so I'm looking forward what will happen tomorrow :)
