Where are the ads?

Friday August 10, 2007 at 09:36AM

I'm a little bit confused. When I came here, I'm pretty sure, I saw some adds around here. And when I look at the page for buying a pro account, it says:

No ads in your space

But where are the ads now? I looked at home pages, photo pages and elsewhere, but no ads. I'm no pro and even if I log out I don't see them.

Am I blind? Or have they removed the ads?

maybe it's just your adblocker?

manganite replies:
Don't know, I have no adblocker, even I think I have none... And it's the same for IE, also no ads.

I already ask the team, so will see what they say.

Hm, strange things, now I also saw no ads on flickr, when I was not logged in... Anyone any ideas about adblocker?

Jean-Michelpro says:
Have no ad-blocker and cannot see any either when I'm logged-in.
The only place where I can find some adds, is if I do a keyword search, after I've logged out.
example: log out and search docs with keyword "tree"

Try to search something and you'll see some ads... by the way, they appear in german, at least to me:-/

Jean-Michelpro replies:

Well, I'm spanish and I'm browsing the english version of ipernity... why in german then?

manganite replies:
And were are you? In spain? I think the language depends on the IP address.

Ivan MG replies:
Yes I'm in Spain. But I've checked again and now they are in english %-P... it may depend on the search term... or the results.

So jean-Michel // Luke Courleciel is right, they appear in search, in the language of the country you are, not in the language you have chosen for the user interface.

Was it always like that? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think there were ads also on photopages in the beginning...

Suggest you tag this post with Team Ipernity, so that they see it. Am sure they'll tell you what happened if anything changed
