Feeling@Home

Monday June 18, 2007 at 08:13PM

Yes, I am feeling at home here! Even though there're some rough edges still. For instance the activity mail I get is in French and the page forgest my language setting sometimes too. Well, maybe time to start learning French again... ;)

I'm still missing a few things from flickr:

  • The list of latest docs is just too short. I'd rather have a feature where I can browse the last x docs of my network in a nice way.
  • There's a list with recent comments, but not a list with activity on items you left a comment. The available list just show replies directly to your comment. (The threading feature of comments is very nice, though. A feature everyone used workarounds for on flickr ;)).
  • I'm missing feeds for a few features: latest comments, latest activities on items you left a comment, etc. Those are quite important for me.
  • Groups. But this is being implemented as it seems.

But even regarding those "drawback", this is a very nice alternative. I esp. like how commenting works here. And now off testing the API...

PS: and I just see that there seems to be no way to add tags on this post directly while editing?

i miss the geotag-button on every single picture. the function is only available at organizr /docmanager.

let's collect our wishes here...

Carstenpro replies:
yeah, geotag button would be nice; at least they use Google Maps, so much better than Y! ;)

ok, lets all add wishes here (but please write in English, or French ;)

I kind of don't like to geotag anything. I earn my living knowing how and knowing specially WHERE, therefore, geotag is taking me to unemployement...

The TOS say: "pernity Org, Limited Liability Company with a capital of 300.000 euros, whose headquarters are located 1 place du château in Mougins (06250) France, and which is registered with Cannes Trade and Company Registration office under the n° 435069216 (hereafter, “Ipernity”). Maybe you can check French registration office online? :D

Sound similar to a GmbH but with quite a bit of capital. Doesn't mean that it can't be sold. I don't think they can guarantee you currently that the service will exist the next few years, esp. that it won't change. That would be a hard promise. But to exist them, we can support them. I'm just still in trauma to buy a pro account somewhere currently... ;)

Replying to the list of latest docs...
I've found a very similar thing to "fotos from your contacts" with no restriction. (But I don't remember how to get it back, shitr, you could see a 20 fotos upload from the same contact...and limited to the last 1000 uploads, so not that short, Carsten)

I'll keep digging, and bring more light:

AND here it is the light: Explore-Last Docs & posts; it's like fotos of your contacts...

Carstenpro replies:
no, even though there's an option to enable trackbacks, a small remark of it says that they're deactivated due to spam problems currently
