Great News!

Oops, some small problems with "share on FB, twitter ..." buttons. We are fixing them. Sorry for that.

The default for "share on social networks" should be "no, thanks". Please let ME decide if I want *others* to share my photos, and don't decide that for me!

Btw. I just changed my settings, but the buttons are still there ...

The buttons are still there only for your own usage, your visitors will not see them.

@ panda - habs auch eben abgeschalten, damit sieht paul von seinem account aus die option bei meinen bildern nicht mehr, obwohl sie für mich noch angezeigt wird

Danke, du warst im Grund die Erste, die erkannt hat, wie brisant diese "Option verkehrt-rum " (anders kann man das nicht bezeichnen..!) ist ! Ich habe sofort sämtliche privaten Einstellungen noch mal überprüft und das NO an der richtigen Stelle gesetzt. Dieser Trend mit dem Verknüpfen findet sich immer mehr, in allen Netzwerken
Ich verstehe diese nutzerunfreundliche Einstellung nicht, die erst mal die Zustimmung vorgibt ! Leute wie ich würden das normalerweise gar nicht wahrnehmen ... ICH habe erst zufällig hier gelesen, was diese "tolle Neuerung" bedeutet..!
Es ist einfach die unstillbare Gier der gesamten Branche nach persönlichen Daten von Benutzern, mit denen die Netzwerke ihre Geschäfte machen.

Where is the problem? If you post your pictures on ipernity for public, you shared already your data? Before we had those buttons everybody could share your image on fb/twitter something (if its a public picture) with some clicks. The only thing is that it is now more convienient to do so. I do not see any privacy problem. If you use a public platform your data is public and not private.

I wish I had buttons for protecting my images from being shared in social networks... not for making it even more convenient.

Iljuschin: I don't care about convenience for *other* people. When I paid for my ipernity account, this feature was not implemented. It's OK to have a feature like that, nothing wrong with it. But as Anke said: This definitely should be an opt-in, NOT an opt-out.

And to notify all customers of a change AFTER it has taken effect is not a good customer service: When exactly will they "notify all members"? And what about those members who are on vacation or otherwise cannot get to their account immediately to change the default setting?

That has nothing to do with my pictures being public already. I don't have a facebook account for privacy reasons, and I don't want my data shared freely on facebook. If someone were to go to great lengths to link my pictures or blogs somewhere else, so be it. But don't let anybody click a button for "convenience", before I have specifically agreed to it!
