[EN] We've just put online some improvements! We hope you'll enjoy them ;-)
Recent activity
The "Activity" page has totally been redesigned. Information is now grouped by posts/docs and several time frames are available. Let's try it!
=> My Space / Recent activity
("since your last connection" time frame will be effective in 3 hours)
DocManager / Groups
A "Groups" folder has been added to the DocManager. You can now easily add/remove docs to/from your groups by drag'n drop.
=> My Space / DocManager
Blogs
The right column of each post shows now a list of previous/next posts (rather than a calendar).
Doc selection
We've added a useful search function to make doc selection easier in such cases: inserting a doc inside a post, using a photo as your homepage background...
Member tag
You can now remove your own member tag added by another member to someone's doc.
=> Mon espace / DocManager
Blogs

The last answers to our comms was for me a important advantage of this page.
So, like Rafaln, I PREFER THE OLD PAGE ACTIVITY.
For the Docmanager, I think it is a good thing.
For the blog too. I was waiting for such a improvment. So, thanks a lot. The only problem, it seems: we do'nt see it that way our own blog. (and why can't we have the list AND the calendar?- not really important in fact)

1. it's less personal, private. you don't talk about the photo with the author only, it's more like saying some things that are let just to say sth... when it was more like talking with author only it was easier to say more about feelings...
2. i don't like seeing favs... of course they are nice etc, they mean sth, ( i know there are people who comments only by favs, but when i know about it i appreciate it more so it's ok)
3. when i look at 'your comments' i see my post as first. i would rather prefer it to be chronologically....
4. i like old design.. it was thing that was different from flickr... now.. ehh... it was your selling point, some characteristic thing....(imo)
it's all for now.... i see people like old one and new as well... it would be really great if we can choose... if it's impossible....hmm... please ask if anything is not clear (those are my thought - they usually aren't clear), i think we can discuss about your opinions, decisions here as well (if you only would like to)

When they now will add beside the timeframe drop-down a type dropdown to filter comments or faves, I am pleased... And superhappy if there is a stat about what was visited lately without leaving a comment or fave (yes, that happens :)
And the Group feature is really cool!

The favorites are - together with the comments - in the "In your space" tab
That´s ok.
The new "Groups" tab in the DocManager is great. Specialy the filter "View my docs only "

if I stop using the reply-button, everything seems to be in chronological order. that's fine ... but is there any possibility to "switch off" the diskussions I don't want to follow anymore? that would be the cream of the cream ... if it's possible, of course. if not, I'll try to find my way through the ocean. :-))

Honestly: I don't like the new "recent activity" design, and not only because of the confusing chronological order. I would prefer the old design, just with a longer time frame to go back for older comments.
Edit: On the plus side: Now one can see other people's comments that were made later - a feature that we were missing all along. It would be great to combine these two features, but I guess that might not be possible?

I have to get used to the recent activity page, before I can say anything about it, and I haven't tried the other features yet, but I LOVE the fact that I now can delete those member tags someone else has set, without asking them to do so - this is GREAT!
Any news on the tag bugs I reported 2 weeks ago?
Christophe says:
I just find the new activity page a little bit confusing, maybe we need time to get used to it...
It's difficult to see which comments are new ones, and which ones I've already read.
Anyway that's a great work you did there!

This is how the conversation went, and this is what I see in my recent activty. it looks like a direct answer to my own comment, but it's completely unrelated.
And it might take weeks before the confusion is somewhat less, when one uses the reply function. Right now I see my own comment and then every other comment of a single person when someone has answered individual people under the same picture, one after the other. The chronological order is totally confusing - so maybe the reply function should be disabled?

All I want to see are comments on my docs and replies to my comments on docs of other members. you could place a link for everyone who wants to see all the other stuff you now display (like: view comments since yours).
Stilettopro says:
A herculean task indeed!
As a first impression I'm delighted to be able to go back so much further (in time) on comments made both on my stream and others but I must admit my gut reaction is very similar to what rafaln (THE BRAVE) says up there:
www.ipernity.com/blog/11832/28900/comment/834981#comment834981
and I do agree with Roberto and others, wouldn't it be possible to keep both?
The bottom line is I really miss having a separate "Recent activity - your comments" page with specific replies to comments that I have made on other's streams.
It used to be great for me to be able to follow replies in this way and was one of the reasons I find Ipernity more "personal" than F****.
I'll be back when I've used it a little more.

1 the first one is no more a problem, now that the time frame works. It is better than before.
2 The right column of the blog: in several blogs, i've seen no change: just the calendar as before. Is it a little bug, or the change will come when we make the next post? Because this amelioration is really a good thing.
3 The folder "your comments" is still a mess: the first comments I see date from one week. It must be classified (? not sure of my english :-) with the date of OUR comments, not of the last comments made in the document or guestbook: I think that is one of the main reason of the mess.
Bt the central question here is the use of the reply button: when it was used, it was really a comfort, and a facility for dialogs in the old version. No more now.
But if it is not used, the changes make the things doing better.
I've seen more people using the reply than not, but I am new here.
So I think it will be a real amelioration if we have the choose between grouping by "only replies" or by "all comments", for example.
Anyway, coming for Yahoo, I really appreciate the job you do here. Ipernity is great!
And a discussion like this one is really something we do appreciate. Thanks a lot.

we're grateful that Ip communicate with us and that's why we talk about it. maybe it's sometimes said in allergic/panic/emotional way but it also says what we really think. TEAM: please, don't take it in an offensive way, we just say what we think. it would probably help you to improve that site to be even more user friendly and perfect.
i won't discuss with you about that you want to see others' comments under pictures you commented because it seems to me it would make some nonsense quarrel.

Its too early to say if I am comfortable with it, but one thing as many others have pointed out is the replies. It was brilliant. I understand that some thought it a waste of time to reply one and one, but could it be possible to have it like it is, just also add a "reply to all"?
I like that the favs are now together with the comments, before I always forgot to check.

Stilettopro says:
I really miss not having a list where I can see the direct replies to my comments (on other pages). Without it how can I keep up with the personal exchanges that I so enjoy on Ipernity? How do I see when a person has replied to my question or comment?
The present system loses these comments and I don't have the time to be looking through pages and pages to find these direct replies which are important to me. So this is really bad news for me. It is not a question of getting used to it; I know this system from F****r and I've never enjoyed it, preferring Ipernity's which is why I've chosen to spend my time here.
To take this personal "reply to" element out of Ipernity is very disappointing to me. I understand you have to keep the majority happy but for myself, unless the ability to reply to personally addressed comments returned - my activity on Ipernity will not be the same.
