La Cardabelle : porte-bonheur.
On l’appelle ainsi dans les régions du sud de la France, mais le vrai nom de ce chardon est Carline à feuilles d’acanthe. On la retrouve séchée et clouée aux portes des maisons dans certains villages : en décoration, comme baromètre (le capitule -la partie centrale- se referme à l’approche du mauvais temps) ou en guise de porte-bonheur.
THE “CARDABELLE”: LUCKY CHARM. It is so called in the southern regions of France, but the real name of this thistle is Carlina acaulis. It is found dried and nailed to the doors of houses in certain villages: as a decoration, as a barometer (the central flower head closes as bad weather approaches) or as a lucky charm.
DIE “CARDABELLE” : GLÜCKSBRINGER. In den südlichen Regionen Frankreichs wird sie so genannt, aber der eigentliche Name dieser Distel ist akanthusblättriger Eberwurz. In manchen Dörfern findet man sie getrocknet und an die Haustüren genagelt : als Dekoration, als Barometer (der zentrale Blütenkopf schliesst sich, wenn schlechtes Wetter naht) oder als Glücksbringer.
